| Beat Request: I would like to hear your versatility. Everything from Afro-cuban to funk, rock, jazz etc. |
| Ideal Drummer Would Be: listens well, lots of dynamics, rock solid meter. Adds fire to the music in subtle ways, ideally by creating space, not filling it. Singing harmony is always nice too. Beat Request: Tony allen (fela's drummer) meets tony williams in a down and dirty west texas bar. The conversation revolves around political struggles of the past and hope. Then they jam, but play behind a solid song that needs space, not too much flash. What would the two of them sound like as one beat? |
| Beat Request: Steady back beat, in the pocket, and groovin. We are sort of like DMB, U2, Counting Crowes, ETC., Basically mainstream and very label friendly. |
| Beat Request: gimmee some brush-lite but quick snare work, then some cymbal ornamentation just before the bottom drops out and you go into yer "BIG BEAT," like yer guitar and bass players just stepped on their distorto boxes...kick it to the stratosphere |
| Ideal Drummer Would Be: someone who understand dynamics and who can lay down a groove without overstating. Someone who can play to the genre of the songs. Since original material is the primary focus of the band, it's important that the contribution be from the heart and not the ego. It's important that you're able to lock in with my bass player of 9 years. I want a team player.
Beat Request: send me a blues shuffle so deep in the groove, I have to re-boot my computer. Funky feel ala Dave Garibaldi. Jazz swing like Buddy Rich, and latin feel like Dave Weckl. |
| Beat Request: a rock n' roll groove with a hint of bonham and a hint of radiohead. hi hat claps for four measures, crash for four, b.p.m. between 100 and 140. Comments: hi - this is really fucking cool. I'm interested to hear what you come up with. I've been looking for well recorded drums for cheap to form the basics of my recordings. I'm also very much in the market for a drummer to play from coffeehouses to clubs here in portland. check out my music at www.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com. If you are interested in my style let's get together and play. |

| Beat Request: hmm, ok, how about some thing on the faster side of emo, like a sunny day real estate. quick pace, maybe some fast snare/tom work with some nice builds/fills? for something more specific perhaps go to www.wokeupfalling.com music page and listen to "Let your Halo". ok hope that is specific enough, (this is great btw, good luck with your search for a band, I'm sure you'll find something good with this method) |
| Beat Request: as far as what i'd like to hear... some samples of good dance/disco rhythms would be great, i'd especially like to hear how you handle your hi-hat. some samples of your more "rhythmic" african influenced work would be great too... whether it be on actual percussive instruments or on your toms. |

| Beat Request: Groovey and super tight, quite aggressive, mid-tempo. Slight lilt/swing - probably from kick syncopation or ghost strokes on snare or hats. But not too busy, NB. Beat Style: hip-hop Time Signature: 4/4 Temp General: Medium Other Tempo Info: Err on the medium to fast side Click Track? yes BPM: 100 Fills: Couple Variability: Slight Variations Main Cymbal: Hi Hats Which Take: Best Take |
| Beat Request: Groove with jazzy hip hop feel, ala Billy Martin or ?uestlove Thompson. |
| Beat Request: I am really simply looking for something to act as the theame-song for my life. Hopfully upbeat and jazzy, but really just a tune that "pulls the whole existance together..." Beat Style: You make the call Temp General: Hurt Me Other Tempo Info: does not have to be supa fast, just as long as it "hurts" Comments: go for it. oh, and mke sure to have those TPS reports on my desk by 8:00am monday! (Drummmers Note: Funny thing was that I actually did hurt myself playing this beat. Smashed myself in the hand with a drum stick. A very rare occurance.) |
| Beat Request: Makossa groove as close to Manu Dibango's as possible for a non-Cameroonian |
| Beat Request: Jungle. The part where the panther steadily stalks the opossum, moving slowly closer and then crashes onto the little fella then lets him scamper away 'cause he gots to take a dizzump. (please include extra hi-hat flourishes for a sense of denouement. Go to boneset.org and click on "panther and possum" to hear what was added to it. |
| Beat Request: i'm sort of more curious than anything else... maybe a mitch mitchell/ginger baker/keith moon type rock/psych/blues thing... |
| This beat is a combination of two requests from the same person.
Beat Request 1: deep dub reggae with some Ziggaboo/Meters flava dumped all over it. Something sticky, groovy and relentless. And dope. Beat Request 2: Let me hear some Bill Kreutzman-esque old school improv, if you could. Or, if you can rock some kind of hybrid Kreutzman/Mickey Hart thing that'd be cool too. Or some Bill Bruford weirdness. That'd be nice to hear as well. |
